SolidWorks MOTOR MOUNT BOAT Page 8-1 Boat Motor Mount A. Sheet Metal. Step 1. Click File Menu > New, click Part and OK. Step 2. Click Insert Menu > Sheet Metal > Base Flange. Step 3. Click the Right plane, Fig. 1. Step 4. Click Centerpoint Arc on the Sketch toolbar. Step 5. Click the Origin to start the arc and move the cursor to the right. Click to place the fi rst end point, then move cursor counterclockwise 180 degrees. Click to place the second end point, Fig. 2. Step 6. Click Line on the Sketch toolbar. Step 7. Draw the lines in Fig. 3. Start the lines tangent - at the ends of the arc. Use the inferencing line, the dotted line that appears when you draw the lines. Step 6. Click Fully Defi ned Sketch on the Sketch toolbar and OK in the Property Manager. Dimension as shown in Fig. 4. Step 9. Click Exit Sketch on the Sketch toolbar. Step 10. In the Property Manager, under Direction 1: Set Depth to .5 under Sheet Metal Gauges: Check Use gauge table Select Sample Table - Aluminum under Sheet Metal Parameters: Select Gauge 26 and click OK , Fig. 5 and Fig. 6. In the Property Manager set: under Vertical Dimensions Scheme select Chain under Vertical Dimension click in the Point of Origination box and click the Origin on the drawing, Fig. 9 and Fig. 8. Click OK . Step 7. Dimension as shown in Fig. 10. Step 8. Click Exit Sketch on the Sketch toolbar. Step 9. Click Isometric on the Standard Views toolbar. Chamfers. Step 1. Click Chamfer on the Features toolbar. Step 2. In the Chamfer Property Manager set: Depth to .1 Angle to 45 degrees, Fig. 13. Step 3. Click the 4 corner edges of the sheet metal, Fig. 14 and click OK Use Zoom to Area View in the View toolbar to drag a zoom window, Fig. 14. Click Zoom to Area again to select edges.
