„The green mile” is directed by Frank Darabont and based on a book by an American writer, Stephen King. This is a story narrated by Paul Edgecomb, who living in old people’s home now. The film takes place in prison in Louisiana, where stay people convicted on a death. Name „The green mile” comes from of green linoleum flooring that went convicts from their cells to the electric chair. Tom Hanks plays the part of Paul Edgecombe is a guard in this jail, and he leads prisoners to this electric chair. One day massive, black man gets transport to prison. His name is John Coffey (Michale Clarke Duncan ). He is defendant of appalling killing of two small sisters. He has strength and size to kill anyone, but it turn out that he is very sensitive, modest, shy and he deathly fear of the dark even! Coffey has a special gift for healing…John cures mouse, Edgecombe and women who had a cancer. Edgecombe begin to wonder whether it is possible to Coffey was truly killed two defenceless girls. Darabont and the actors bring a lot of emotion. This film is truly a tearjerker. I recommend “the green mile” to everyone.
