Global society in which we are currently living, serves us a huge variety of opportunities. While cultural boundaries and long distances lost their importance, international events are becoming more common. I would live to consider advantages and disadvantages of international sports events. First of all, huge international events correspond to development in tourism. Not only will visitor arrive to new place but there is also a chance they'll come back next year tempted by local attractions. Moreover, it is a chance for local, unknown cultures to represent themselves. Also local industries may benefit as amout of customers is increasing. A country or city, wich is organising such events acquire new, interational label. But let's try to consider it from another angle. For some people it's hard to cross cultural boundaries, and foreign visitors may not be appreciated. Moreover, due to various specific preparations, road networks are gioing to be modified, what would appear to be unconvenient for local people. In addition, crowds of people and cramped areas, are another aspects which wouldn't satisfy the citizens. To put it in a nutshell, it's hard to affirm whether organising international sports events is profitable for host or not. In my view, such events are reinforcement for industry and they expand relevance of host in the international field - what is very beneficial.
